Creative people are a different breed. If you’ve spent your life dedicated to your craft, to putting your gift out there, you might not have taken the time to learn all the money stuff. The Affluent Artist™ has come to terms with money and recognizes that it is an ally, another tool to further your creation. Financial Independence allows you to become your own patron, to create without monetary conflict. We at the Affluent Artist (TM) are dedicated to helping you learn the money stuff, to helping you welcome
abundance, to helping cut through the Wall Street Jargon. We believe that God has a special love for creative people, after all, that is his line of work!

I am very excited to have found this website and your book – which is on order from amazon…
i recently left my fulltime job/career to pursue my love and passion – music and art (im a graphic designer and artist)… to join with my boyfriend kenny schick (http://www.myspace.com/basement3music) who has been a musician all his life … and is also a photographer (www.flickr.com/photo/basement3images) to concentrate on our own art and music fulltime
we work together in this and i concentrate a lot on helping him with the business side of his craft… for the past few years we’ve gotten into the james ray series – which is really cool… and very inspiring… and has changed quite a few things in the way we approach our business now… but i think im hoping that your book will be more specific for us as ‘artists’ because that is sure a different thing to other working situations or even having your own business. There seem to be other factors involved… we are considered by most a beautiful but mostly unnecessary commodity… so selling CDs, getting people to shows, getting people to galleries, buying books, buying artwork – especially in the current financial climate… really really difficult…
our desire is to be very successful at what we do and financially secure enough to continue working solely on our art for the rest of our lives. so im am always looking for better ways to do things. so i very much look forward to your book. and thank you.

Hi Rick,
I just discovered your blog and I really like your philosophy as it coincides with my own philosophy as an artist. I used to label myself a “Starving Artist”, but I realized that was very self-defeating.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts here. I feel very inspired by watching your videos!

After being a professional musician for 30 years at the top of the latin music industry I am regaining my passion and hope for playing the guitar, and having a blast doing it because now I know money doesn’t have to be an issue,
Best regards,
A very happy and focused latin jazz guitarist,
PS
