Thanks to the magic of Twitter, I’m meeting a lot of you new to this space, and on Fridays we always profile a creative person whose work moves me in some way. My old friend, Tomas Michaud released a new CD this week and if you have a date tonight, I think you might want to hurry up and get his music!
Like me, Tomas is a guitar player, only he is good, his guitar playing and compositions do what playing music is supposed to do, transport you to another dimension. In his new release, Beauty and Fire, Tomas brings you to a dimension that usually takes a certain amount of experience and wisdom to reach:
Sensuality and Passion.
Seduce… surrender
go slow… give in
tease
give… receive
know where it all ends but take your time and enjoy the journey:
build a fire that will last all night.

That’s what Beauty and Fire encourages, his Flamenco guitar will set the mood that you are looking for.
Tomas’s work has always encouraged a peaceful, thoughtful reaction, but someone has clearly inspired him in his new work, his Flamenco guitar does everything but give you a massage, it reaches through the Ipod, into your brain and down your spine. I’m warning you, don’t play this music when you are alone. This is dance the tango, drink sangria and put rose petals on the bed music, if you wrote romance novels, this would be the soundtrack. Imagine Sting’s Desert Rose without the annoying Sting vocals… Exotic yet familiar, exciting and somehow comforting. A little blue pill for your brain.
And I’m back…
The Affluent Artist message is this, Tomas has sold over 60,000 CD’s, his music has appeared in commercials, he’s played with some of our era’s most famous musicians. He hasn’t relied on a record deal or someone else to promote his work, the You Tube video above is ample evidence that he gets Web 2.0, that he knows how to reach his audience. Tomas knows his market, has a pretty good idea who will like his music and is happy to provide them with a product that they are happy to purchase. People are thrilled to pay money for his creations, after all, what’s money matter when you can have Beauty and Fire?

What a combo! The review is as powerfully written as the music was played. Thank you to both of you for sharing your genius and playing big in the world. You are an inspiration squared. JPL

Beautiful review and music. This is the first of Thomas’ music I’ve heard since BTS, I’d forgotten.
